Reopening the Mission Center in Cuchaentza
Project Summary
For many years, the mission center in Cuchaentza served as a powerful training ground for young people from surrounding communities. There, they received biblical discipleship, spiritual formation, and practical training, equipping them to return to their villages and serve as leaders, teachers, and evangelists.
Unfortunately, the center has been closed for over three years, and the facilities have fallen into disrepair. However, through the leadership of Pastor Pedrito—the local pastor and current president of the center—we have been given the opportunity to reopen and manage the facility, continuing the impactful mission that once flourished there.
Project Goal
To restore and relaunch the Cuchaentza Mission Center as a biblical training hub for young indigenous leaders, hosting students for one year of intensive discipleship, with the vision of sending them back to strengthen their home churches and communities.
Action Plan
Legal Documentation
Register and legalize the center with the Ecuadorian government under the authority of the local church.
Facility Repairs
Dormitories and bathrooms: Plumbing, painting, and structural repairs.
Auditorium and classrooms: Roof, flooring, electrical systems, and lighting.
Kitchen area: New stove, refrigerator, freezer, and cooking equipment.
Surrounding grounds: Clearing overgrowth, path maintenance, and safety improvements.
Internet and Technology
Installation of rural or satellite internet for online classes and communication.
Purchase of a computer and monitor for educational and administrative use.
Water System
Installation of a water pump with proper storage and distribution.
Study Materials
Acquisition of Bibles, discipleship books, notebooks, and teaching supplies.
Local Facilitator or Director
Modest monthly support for a local leader who will coordinate classes, manage logistics, and oversee the mission center’s daily operations.
Initial Budget
To reopen and restore the center, we estimate an initial investment of:
$10,000 USD
This amount will cover legal fees, infrastructure repairs, equipment, technology, and readiness to receive students and teachers—who will come from Quito through a partnership with a local seminary.
Expected Impact
Equip young indigenous leaders with biblical truth and leadership skills.
Strengthen local churches through the return of trained, committed workers.
Restore a mission center that will once again serve as a bridge between the Gospel and unreached communitiesdeep in the Amazon.
